Can you believe we're already half way through the year?
It's been an exciting three months since our last newsletter, with sales trips to New York and Ireland; we've hosted one of our key customers who visited from Australia for a supplier tour of the UK; we've celebrated the 10th birthday of Trooper Beer; and we've expanded our agreement with one of our premium suppliers, Greene King, taking responsibility for their global distribution.
We've also been busy behind the scenes with awards presentations, and have been selected as finalists for the prestigious Lancashire Best in Business Awards, and the Great British Entrepreneur Awards. We'll be finding out how we fare later this year, so watch this space to see how we get on!

David | | | | Spotlight on... Hobgoblin IPA
This legendary IPA made by Wychwood Brewery won the World's Best IPA award in 2018, and has been crowned the UK's Best English Style IPA every year since 2020 - and for good reason.
The golden liquid with its slight copper hue gives off a citrusy, tropical scent, and explodes with the juicy notes of grapefruit, oranges, and honey.
Hobgoblin IPA is available in 500ml bottles, 500ml cans and 30L steel kegs.

Meet the team member... Tom Fitzmaurice, Operations Manager
One of Sovereign’s veteran colleagues, Tom has just celebrated his 9-year anniversary with us. After starting as Supply Chain Coordinator in 2014, Tom progressed quickly through the ranks, winning promotions to Supply Chain Manager and Export Sales Manager, before moving back to the Operations team as Operations Manager in 2022.
He credits the unique culture at SBC for giving him the opportunity to learn about every aspect of the business and to work across multiple departments.
Tom’s favourite beverage from the Sovereign portfolio is Thatcher’s Katy, describing it as “incredibly special and quite unique", due to its use of a single variety of dessert apple in the production. | |
Tom has a green thumb, and outside of work, you’ll find him in his garden, weeding, planting, and pruning, getting it ready for the blooms of summer – with a Katy’s cider close by!
